The Beer Monitor Basic combines the well-proven sound velocity technology with an innovative new formula to determine alcohol, original extract and real extract of finished beer directly in the line.

Designed for craft beers, the system comes preconfigured, is set up within minutes and is completely maintenance-free. Measuring the alcohol content with an accuracy 0.1 % v/v, the original extract with an accuracy of 0.1 °Plato and the real extract with an accuracy of 0.2 °Plato, the Beer Monitor Basic allows you to monitor your craft beers continuously. Out-of-specification product is avoided, beer quality improved and product consistency ensured.

High accuracy

The reliable and well-proven compact sound velocity sensor allows determination of alcohol, original and real extract of finished beer directly in the line. Results are automatically compensated for temperature and CO2 content.

Easy installation: true inline measurement

The sensor connects directly to the main line via Varivent® or DIN flanges. No addational bypass installation is needed.


The bypass-free installation features a robust and durable sensor design without moving parts and requires absolutely no maintenance.

Intuitive touchscreen interface

A simple and intuitive touchscreen interface makes it easy to set up instrument and product parameters. In addition, you can visualize your process and display graphical trends with a few clicks only. By setting lower and upper limits on measurement values, alarms can be visualized and triggered using digital or relay outputs.

Various communication possibilities

Classic analog outputs (4 mA - 20 mA) and digital-IOs available (PROFIBUS DP, Modbus TCP, PROFINET, DeviceNet or EtherNet/IP protocols)

Modular and scalable

The Beer Monitor Basic can be upgraded to a full Beer Monitor in the future. You can start with what you need and add modules at a later date, whether to expand production or control the brewing process. Optional inputs for additional parameters like CO2 and oxygen are readily available.

Optional data acquisition

The completely updated, powerful data acquisition and visualization software (client/server) Davis 5 enables you to save all data and alarm, provides a statistical and graphical trend analysis and product adjustments. Password-protected access to all measuring systems is easily possible from various locations.
